Bongiwe Mtshali, a member of the IFP since 1985, before crossing to the new National Freedom Party ahead of the elections, said she would work with her fellow councillors to take the Municipality to another level.

“Over the years I have learnt that it is very important to work with people, irrespective of their political affiliation,” she said.

Mtshali committed herself to staying in touch with people at a grass-roots level and remaining accessible at all times.

“As a leader you should always work with the people and make sure that your phone is on at all times, so that people will be able to get hold of you whenever they need your assistance or guidance,” Mtshali said.
